661 RECOVERED PUMP ACTION RIFFLES DECLARED MISSING IN ASO ROCK



Emerging report reaching us, indicates that the 661 pump action riffles that were recovered by the Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, last January, at the Mile 2 area of Lagos, have been declared missing.

This shocking revelation, came as the Nigeria Customs Service on Tuesday, announced that it has impounded another 440 pump action riffles, at the Tin Can Island Command, Lagos.

The 440 pieces of automatic pump action riffles were said to have been imported into the country from Turkey.

A junior Customs Officer who pleaded anonymity while speaking exclusively to us via phone said: “We are happy that our men on Tuesday, intercepted 440 pump action rifles that were illegally shipped into the country. But can the masses ask the same Customs Officers to account for the 661 pump action that was recovered last Thursday?

“As I speak to you, the 661 pump action riffles case, has been swept under the carpet. The case is not in court, neither are the suspects that were arrested, in jail. We are in a serious mess in this country.

“Read my lips, the 440 pump action riffles discovered, will soon by swept under the carpet. I am a Customs Officer, and I am telling you the truth.

Recall, that three persons among who are the importer, the clearing agent, and the driver, were arrested in connection with the 661 riffles.
The 661 pieces intercepted at the Apapa port, in January, were concealed with steel doors, and other merchandise goods.
Following the January incident, the Customs declared two of its senior Officers wanted, over the importation of the riffles into the country.
The Officers declared wanted were: Abdulahi I., an Assistant Superintendent of Customs, ASC, with service number 44483; and ACIC Odiba Inah, with service number 133386.
