Woman Gives Birth To Twins From DIFFERENT Fathers.

   A woman in Vietnam gave birth to twins. Sounds normal enough, right? After all, twin births are at a record high. Well, when it soon became apparent that they looked very different from one another, the twins underwent DNA testing—and the findings indicated that these babies had different fathers.

Though extremely rare, twins can have different fathers if two eggs are fertilized by sperm from two different men. This can happen if a woman has intercourse with two different men during a single ovulation period.

“Our Centre for Genetic Analysis and Technology lab has tested and found a pair of bi-paternal twins,” Le Dinh Luong, president of the Genetic Association of Vietnam, told The Telegragh “This is rare not only for Vietnam, but for the world.”

DNA tests revealed the man believed to be the father of the twins was only related to one baby.

This isn’t the first case of twins being born to different fathers. Texas mom Mia Washington reported a similar case in 2009. Washington admitted to having an affair at the time she conceived, and after she and her partner realized her children had very different features, she decided to have them tested.

“I have twins, but they’re by different fathers,” Washington told FOX News “Out of all people in America and of all people in the world, it had to happen to me. I’m very shocked.”

So there you have it—twins born from different fathers? Very, very rare but certainly not impossible.
